Is Onfido still Onfido?
Onfido is now part of Entrust. Entrust completed the acquisition in April 2024 and sells it as Entrust Identity Verification.
Is 5arz an Onfido alternative for KYC?
No. For regulated KYC and AML, document fraud and review workflows, Onfido is the right tool. 5arz is for portable proof a verified person was there.
Who checks the ID in 5arz?
Our verification partners, Stripe Identity and Didit, run the ID and liveness check. 5arz never receives your selfie or ID image — only a signed result.
Doesn’t Onfido do reusable identity?
Onfido worked with Microsoft in 2021 so people could reuse verified credentials. A 5arz seal names one action, and anyone can check it offline against our public key.
Does a 5arz seal prove one account per person?
Not by itself. Read the sybil_checked claim in the credential before you gate one-per-person actions.
